2002-2003 "... Let me Tell the Tale ..."
Déjame... es una serie que toma como título una frase de la conocida canción "La Flor de la Canela" de Chabuca Granda, comenzada en agosto del 2001 y que incorpora gran parte del resultado extraído de la investigación: Del Periplo Camino de las Velas A propósito de la presente fase de la Obra comentaba Elida Román, en El Comercio:

tiene una gran capacidad integradora de las fuentes que hoy abonan la

Del Mobiliario Cubano (serie 1998-2000). Instalación de dimensiones variables, compuesta por dibujos y objetos reciclados, incorporando materiales provenientes de cultos afroamericanos presentes en Centroamérica y el Caribe. Algunos de estos materiales a que se hace referencia son la tierra de Bibijagüero (espécie de hormiga), pólvora, trapos, huesos, plumas, etc. The Cuban Furniture. Installation of variable dimensions, composed by drawings and recycled objects, incorporating materials coming from learned present Afro-Americans in Central America and the Caribbean. Some of these materials to that one makes reference are the earth of Bibijagüero (ant ), gunpowder, cloths, bones (human), feathers, etc. |

Del Mobiliario Cubano: (1999-2000) Serie que tomando como pretexto un documento histórico, fábula sobre el hallazgo de un grupo de muebles, aprovechando para tal fin ritualidades de legitimación propios de nuestra cultura contemporánea, como son los documentos históricos, el comprometimiento de instituciones con el desarrollo procesual de la obra (museos, archivos históricos) y la manipulación de convenciones sociales como medidas lineales, frases, etc. para crear un relato perfectamente creíble, salvo detalles discontinuos que persiguen la deconstrucción del ya construido relato. En esta serie cristaliza el matiz "procesual" que ha la fecha constituye una de las características mas ostencibles del la propuesta plástica en general.

Este grupo de obras toma como pretexto las cartas de viaje de Cristobal Colón (4), para reinventar la historia del descubrimiento de América mediante la fabulación de un supuesto hallazgo de 8 nuevas cartas. Este grupo de obra sincretiza tres figuras fundamentales del mitologema de la conquista, Cristobal Colón (el genovés), Aggayú Solá (San Cristobal del Panteón Afroamericano) y Sancristobal (patrón de los navegantes) para cosificar tres visiones en un solo "San cristobal" y elaborar así doce viajes. Esta Serie se comenzó en 1998 y se culminó en 2001. Contando en su elaboración con materiales como lienzo, sangre, carbón, cochinilla, pólvora, objetos reciclados, pigmentos minerales, etc.

group of works taking like pretext the letters of trip of Cristóbal
Columbus (4), to reinvent the history of the discovery of America by means
of the invention of a supposed discovery of 8 new letters. This work group
fuses three fundamental figures of the myth of the conquest, Cristóbal
Columbus (the Genoese one), Aggayú Solá (San Cristóbal of the world Afro-American)
and Sancristobal (the navigators' pattern) to create three visions in an
alone one "San cristobal" and to elaborate this way twelve trips. |
