Un Artista a seguir.

Si algo afianza los méritos -por cierto numerosos- de la presentación de Fermín Fleites (Cuba 1974) en la galería Praxis de Barranco, es la capacidad de reunir lo aparentemente no conectado, en un despliegue de “caos ordenado” de propuestas visuales que nos hacen saltar de las imágenes clásicas (griegas y renacentistas alemanas) a las más inmediatas propuestas de la instalación o el arte conceptual, sin olvidar la mirada erudita dirigida a los productos de las imágenes populares, y en este caso relacionados con el ritual, la creencia mágica o asociación simbólica a los desarrollos de la naturaleza, el tiempo y las conductas. Fleites tiene una gran capacidad integradora de las fuentes que hoy abonan la producción artística. Antropología, Psicología, Historia, Etnografía, materializadas a través de fusiones estéticas, presentadas con un sentido de espectáculo que no elude mostrar su relación con la publicidad el ícono inventado ad-hoc, o el humor contemporáneo desenfadado, los que sabe reunir y ofrecer como resultado de un juego personal, amparado y dirigido, sin duda, por una decisión razonable e inteligente que, sin embargo ha descartado la retórica grandielocuente. Espacial acento es el que el artista ha señalado para las practicas mágicas, desde el vodú hasta el shamanismo andino, y la especial fascinación teñida de temor y reverencia que las mismas ejercen a los habitantes de estas culturas, creando un alucinante mural, “Yo y el otro” al que podemos asignar una condición metafórica de fuerte impacto. También a jugado con elementos que necesitan una información culta previa, como en “El elegido” (alusión al martirio de San Sebastián al que ha despojado de todo drama), o en “Doscientas treinta y tres horas para...”, realizada con sangre, carbón pólvora y pigmentos naturales’. “Déjame que te cuente...” título que completa la propuesta, forma parte de un trabajo de largo aliento emprendido por el autor que lo ha llevado a establecerse por un tiempo en el Perú. Una obra no solo interesante, inteligente y divertida, sino cargada de reflexiones, humor y ambición por el encuentro comunicador. Una de las mejores presentaciones en lo que va del año.

An Artist to continue.

If something secures the merits - by the way numerous - of the presentation of Fermín Fleites (Cuba 1974) in the Praxis gallery, Barranco of Lima City, it is the capacity to seemingly not gather the connected, in an unfolding of "orderly chaos" of visual proposals that make us jump of the classic images (Greek and Renaissance German) to the most immediate proposals in the installation or the conceptual art, without forgetting the learned look directed to the products of the popular images, and in this case related with the ritual, the magic belief or symbolic association to the developments of the nature, the time and the behaviors. Fleites has a great integrative capacity of the sources that today pays the artistic production. Anthropology, Psychology, History, Ethnography, materialized through aesthetic coalitions, presented without a doubt with a show sense that doesn't avoid to show their relationship with the publicity the invented icon ad-hoc, or the appeased contemporary humor, those that knows how to gather and to offer as a result of a personal, aided and directed game, for a reasonable and intelligent decision that, however it has discarded the rhetorical unnatural. Space accent is the one that the artist has pointed out for you practice them magic, from the vodu until the Andean shamanism, and the special colored fascination of fear and you reveres that the same ones exercise the inhabitants of these cultures, creating a hallucinating mural, "Me and the other one" to the one that we can assign a metaphoric condition of strong impact. Also had played with elements that need a previous learned information, like in "The elect" (allusion to the martyrdom of San Sebastian to which has robbed of all drama), or in "Two hundred thirty three hours for... ", carried out with blood, coal gunpowder and natural pigments'. "you Let me him to count you... " title that completes the proposal, is part of a work of long encouragement undertaken by the author that has taken it to settle down for a while in the Peru. An interesting, intelligent and amusing non alone work, but loaded with reflections, humor and ambition for the encounter communicating. One of the best presentations in so far in the year.
